Norwich boss Wagner has made a pretty confident prediction about this evening’s opponents.
Leicester City, according to Norwich City manager David Wagner, will be promoted this year and will be a tough opponent.
Leicester City has made fantastic acquisitions and is off to a strong start in the league, winning five of their first six games.
Despite the challenging division, the Foxes have a great team and should be promoted.
The Foxes did lose James Maddison and Harvey Barnes in the summer and that was a blow considering how valuable the duo were in the final third last season – but their departures always looked likely following the club’s relegation to the Championship.
With the money they have been able to generate through player sales though, they managed to strengthen their squad with some excellent additions including Harry Winks and England international Conor Coady.
And Enzo Maresca, who assumed leadership of the Midlands team in the summer, has experience working with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and has been widely predicted to lead the Foxes back to the Premier League at the first opportunity.
How have Leicester City started the 2023/24 campaign?
They have performed admirably in the early going of the season, winning five of their first six league games and also triumphing in both Carabao Cup contests.
After defeating play-off finalists Coventry City 2-1 to open the season, they went on to defeat Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City, and Rotherham United, winning the latter two contests with late goals.
The Foxes lost 1-0 at home to Hull City right before the international break, which meant they were unable to win 15 out of 15 points in their first five league games of the season.
